|---|---|
| Curious about what makes them tick? So were we! We asked our favourite demi-furs a few personal questions about themselves, their inspirations, and future aspirations. | |
| Well, ok, what do you want to know? I'm old enough to drive, but not drink. I don't smoke, I like video games, and I collect...uh...comic books from different countries. My mother's from overseas, so I speak two languages. But I read three. Someday I'd like to make a living off of translating smutty comics into--wait, what do you mean I can't say that? |
| My biggest achievement? So far? Huh…let's see…I took our team to nationals four years in a row and I'm looking at a full scholarship to NJU because of it. But I don't know if I'll go, you know? I like playing ball, 'n all, but I'm not sure it's what I want to do with my life. Maybe I'll run away with a cute cheerleader, instead. [laughs] |
| My brother and I are identical twins, but I was born first. It's not that important, but I hold it over his head because he's cute when he whines. We're both huge into LARPing. Not that online crap, though, but the real thing. With garb and accents, and real talent. We might look the same, but our personalities are way different. For example, my characters are generally warriors, soldiers, and rangers. He goes more for the magic-users. But we both love elves, which can be kinda hard when you want to pull on brute force. But I can make it work. |
| My twin brother and I enjoy roleplaying and do it every weekend at the state park. There's a reenactment group that we joined a few years ago, and it's been really great so far. I'd like to do it full time when I graduate. I know mom and dad want us to go to college and everything, but I think it would be excellent to travel around to Ren Faires and stuff and get paid to dress up as my characters. I can't think of a better job. |
| I landed a summer internship at an international game development company. It's pretty awesome. I thought my job would be all lame and 'go get me a cuppa coffee, b*tch', but it's really not. All the people there are cool and geeky n' stuff and my job actually lets me write demo scripts for new games. They say they'll take my best concept after the summer and let me pitch it to the CEO. That rocks. I only wish my department manager wasn't so strung out. He's so friggin' stressed, he's gonna give me an ulcer. |
| Umm…I like to read. A lot. I write a lot of fiction for books and movies that I like. I can't believe I just admitted that. It's kind of embarrassing, you know? But a lot of people like my work. Online. I guess you could say I'm kind of like a celebrity. What do I write about? I can't tell you that! My parents would freak if they read what I wrote! |
| There isn't a video game that I can't beat. Seriously. I don't even need to be able to speak the language--games are like math problems. Once you recognize the formula, it's easy. I've beaten over three thousand so far, not counting sequals. Right now I do beta testing for a major game company. I'm pretty sure the lead designer hates me. It's not my fault his games suck. I like board games, too. Those are actually harder because your opponent isn't a machine. I've never beaten my older sister at chess. |
| Hi, my name is Louis. I'm the oldest of a litter of six and this is my last year of school. I got a track scholarship to a university a few towns over, but right now I work at a pizza place a few blocks from where I live. I'm helping my mother take care of my brothers and sisters, but I hope to do some traveling before I go to college. I enjoy reading, hiking, and sports. Was that ok? |
| Wow, what a classic question. Ok…well, my father wanted me to be an architect, and probably a boy, as well, so if I have anyone to blame for the way I am, it's him. But instead he got a lesbian fashion designer. Oddly enough, he's more bothered by the designer aspect than the fact that I like girls. Maybe it's because we actually have something in common now. My mother taught me to sew when I was a kid. We weren't poor, or anything. It wasn't like I made my clothes out of curtains. I just wanted to look a certain way and the department stores where we shopped weren't cutting it. I won a lot of contests when I was in high school for math, which is why my father wanted me to be an architect. Now I'm in art school for design and he's pissed. If only he knew how mathematical knitting and sewing really were, I think he'd chill out. But he got me a subscription to T&A for the holidays, so he can't be that mad.

| Music's totally my thing. Sucks I can't play an instrument, though. I write a lot of songs and I'm in three bands. Two are with guys from school and one's this local group that read something I posted on their ThisPlace page that they liked so now I write songs for them, too. I want to do vocals. My dad springs for voice lessons on Thursdays and mom covers my guitar which is cool 'cause I suck, but oh, well. My friend Van's older brother's in a band, so we're gonna sneak into their My Living Hell concert next week which is cool 'cause I've only heard them play once before when my dad took me, which was fun, but kinda lame. |
I'm in art school for sculpture. I like working on a large scale, so most of my pieces are lifesized. My preferred medium is the female form. Heh, just kidding. But most of what I do does focus on women. I was raised by my mother and while she was forced to play the more 'masculine' roll, she always stressed beauty. I remember when I was a kid, she would come home covered in grease from the garage where she worked and immediately take a bath. She was like a completely different person when she'd come out, clean, her hair curled, smelling like lilacs. I thought she was gorgeous. She's definitely my inspiration. | |
| I was raised by my grandparents on a hundred acres of farm land down South. I moved up here with my aunt a few months ago because I'd never seen the ocean and thought it was about high time I had. Not much to me, really. I like hiking and camping and being in the woods. I did a little hunting when I was younger, but didn't much care for that. Nowadays I work for a local farmer that goes to market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. All 'n all it's nice. Might stay here awhile. Might not. Depends on what keeps me here, really. |
| I'm currently enrolled at NJU, majoring in Music with a minor in Literature. I'm in a band called My Living Hell with a couple of guys from high school. We've been doing local gigs for the last two years. I play mostly by ear, so school's been a little hard for me this semester. My teachers are usually pretty cool about the way I learn, but my Advanced Keyboard instructor keeps giving me crap about not reading sheet music. If I hear it once or twice, I'm right on it. But this guy's being a real dick about my dyslexia. I should give him a free ticket to my next concert. |
